Arshalouys is a daily Armenian newspaper, published online in Western Armenian and in English. We report the news from Armenia, the Armenian Diaspora and the world, for readers wherever they live.
Our name means dawn — the first light of a new day. Every morning we set out to give our readers a clear and accurate picture of what happened, and why it matters.
What we cover
- Armenia — politics, society and the economy.
- Diaspora — our communities, their institutions and their people.
- International — the world news that concerns Armenians.
- Articles and interviews, culture, science, the economy, sport, and video.
Our commitments
- Accuracy first. We check before we publish, and we name our sources wherever we can.
- News apart from opinion. Reporting is reporting; analysis and opinion are labelled as such.
- Signed by the paper. Our articles carry the byline “The Editor”: the paper as a whole stands behind everything it publishes.
- Corrections in the open. When we get something wrong, we correct it and say so. If you spot a mistake, tell us through our contact page.
- Two languages, one standard. We write in Western Armenian and in English. A translation may be prepared with the help of software, but none is published until an editor has read and approved it.
- Free to read. No paywall and no subscription are needed to read our articles.
- Advertising you can recognise. Our advertising is sold directly, clearly labelled “Advertisement” and served from our own site — no advertising networks follow you around.
- Respect for your privacy. We do not sell information about our readers. Our pages load no third-party trackers, and a YouTube video loads only when you press play.
