On Monday, 5th of October 2026, the president of the Republic of Lebanon Joseph Aoun visited His Holiness Catholicos Aram I.
The main purpose of President Aoun’s visit was to express condolences to His Holiness on the death of his brother, Avedis Keshishian, who had recently died in New York.
Present at the meeting were Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian, co-chair of the Political Assembly of the National Central Board Stepan Der Bedrosian, chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the Lebanese parliament MP Ibrahim Kanaan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon Archbishop Shahe Panossian and monastic fathers.
