Lavrov: “If Europe Attacks Russia, the War Will Be Different and Very Short”

Russia has repeatedly stressed that it is not preparing to attack Western countries and has no interest in doing so. But if Europe, which regularly speaks of preparing for war against Russia, attacks Russia, that will already be a completely different war, and it will be very short. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed this in his remarks during the International Youth Festival.

The minister noted that confrontation is not Russia’s way of acting, something that has been said repeatedly by Russia’s leadership and personally by President Vladimir Putin.

“The West long ago made its choice in favour of containing Russia, we have spoken about that more than once. And now we already hear statements by the leadership of the European Union about the need to prepare for war against our country, that is currently the most widespread topic in the words of the European elites and the leadership based in Brussels. We have repeatedly said that we are not prepared to attack Europe, we have no interest whatsoever in doing so. But if Europe, which every day speaks of preparing for war against Russia, attacks Russia, then that will already be a completely different war, and it will be very short,” Lavrov said.
