The Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia has reported that a criminal proceeding has been initiated over the incident recorded on 1 October 2026 in the settlement of Shaki in the Sisian community of Syunik Province.
“Under Article 166, Part 2, Clause 6 of the Criminal Code (inflicting grave harm to health with the use of a weapon), Article 335, Part 1 (illegal trafficking of firearms) and Article 207, Part 1 (violation of the inviolability of the home). Over the same incident, another criminal proceeding has been initiated under Article 469, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (illegally crossing the state border) and Article 340, Part 1 (smuggling of firearms). This proceeding has been joined to the main proceeding,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Recall that on 29 September, the state security service of Azerbaijan had informed the National Security Service of Armenia that a soldier from one of Azerbaijan’s military units had left his place of service under unknown circumstances.
