Azerbaijan calls on the government of Armenia to work actively to prepare society for peace.
Assistant to the president of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev said this during the CAMCA 2026 regional forum taking place in Baku.
According to him, official Baku is concerned by “certain trends observed within Armenian society, in particular the presence of forces with considerable influence.”
Hajiyev noted that the Azerbaijani side has the strategic resolve to continue the peace agenda, to strengthen it in practice and to shape a peace architecture that will ensure long-term peace and stability for the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples.
“That is why we always say that we want to conclude this peace not only with the government of Armenia and the country’s prime minister, but also with the Armenian people. For that very reason we continue to expect a change to Armenia’s Constitution. Of course, this is a domestic matter, and we will fully refrain from interfering in that process,” he added.
