Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said that Beirut wants to open a “new page” in relations with Tehran and to build them on the principles of the sovereignty and independence of the two countries and non-interference in internal affairs. He also called on Iran to appoint a new ambassador to Lebanon.
Salam noted that among Lebanon’s priorities is Israel’s complete withdrawal from the country’s territory and the cessation of Israeli attacks. He also stressed that throughout the whole territory of Lebanon arms must be exclusively under the control of the state.
