In parallel with the developments of the TRIPP project, the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border, and then also of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Armenia-Turkey railway communication is expected, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today in Yerevan.
Pashinyan, who was participating in the Armenia-United Kingdom business conference being held in Yerevan for the first time, made this announcement while speaking about the Armenian-American TRIPP project. That road will ensure unimpeded connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan through the south of Armenia.
“Armenia and our region are in a phase of transformation, which is linked to the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the developments stemming from it. We are now working on a daily basis toward launching the implementation of the TRIPP project on the ground, which will unequivocally and unquestionably be a cornerstone for changing not only the Republic of Armenia, but the entire economic environment of the region. It already is such, because even today we feel a certain liveliness of investment attractiveness around Armenia,” the prime minister said.
According to Armenian officials, the construction of TRIPP in Syunik will most likely start at the beginning of next year. In his speech today the prime minister did not specify when the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, closed for more than 30 years, and of railway communication with Turkey and Azerbaijan is expected.
