Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed discussing the integration of the Trump Route (TRIPP) into the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor) within the framework of the Central Asia-Azerbaijan (C5+1) cooperation format.
“I think that the integration of the Middle Corridor with the TRIPP transport initiative can be discussed at the expert level, which will expand the existing potential and will serve the long-term interests of all our countries,” Tokayev said.
He stressed that Kazakhstan attaches special importance to the development of the Trans-Caspian route, as the activity of recent years shows its growing demand.
He added that according to World Bank estimates, if all infrastructure projects are implemented, freight shipments across the Caspian Sea could quadruple by 2040.
