EU to Continue Supporting Yerevan’s Sustainable Development: EU Message

The European Union delegation in Armenia has congratulated Yerevan on its 2808th anniversary, stressing EU-Armenia cooperation directed at the development of the capital.

“A city where history and culture are intertwined, and new ideas and opportunities open the way toward new horizons,” the EU delegation’s congratulatory message said.

The delegation noted that within the framework of EU-Armenia cooperation, support has been provided for improving Yerevan’s water supply, implementing initiatives in the climate and energy sector, modernizing public buildings and increasing energy efficiency.

Support has also been provided for modernizing metropolitan transport and improving air quality within the framework of the “Clean Air for Health and Green Growth in Armenia” (EU4Clean Air) programme. Through it, support has been given to the creation of air quality monitoring stations and the development of relevant policy.

The EU delegation stated that it will continue to work to contribute to Yerevan’s sustainable development, the creation of new opportunities for its residents and the strengthening of ties with Europe.

“Happy birthday, 2808-year-old Yerevan,” the message said.
