Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia Armen Ghazaryan addressed the process of granting citizenship to those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.

“We already have more than 53,000 applications for the acquisition of citizenship, and more than 45,000 of our compatriots displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have already received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia. We are simplifying as much as possible the administrative procedures through which our compatriots go,” he said.

Addressing the delay in obtaining citizenship, Ghazaryan said that the law provides that from the start of the proceedings that period cannot exceed 90 working days. “If we have such violations of the time limit, I can assure you that those violations are isolated.”
