Mattel has announced the release of a “Barbie Signature” collection doll in the image of Celine Dion. It is inspired by Dion’s performance of “My Heart Will Go On,” heard in the film “Titanic,” at the Oscar awards ceremony in 1998.
The doll wears a replica of the singer’s familiar look, a long-sleeved, floor-length, ocean-blue dress, which Dion wore at the 70th Oscar awards ceremony on March 23, 1998, in Los Angeles. The doll’s set also includes a replica of the familiar “Heart of the Ocean” necklace. In the film that jewel belonged to Rose DeWitt Bukater, portrayed by Kate Winslet and Gloria Stuart.
Pre-orders for the doll have been made available to members of the “Barbie 59 Club” for 69.99 dollars.
