Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli has stated that Turkey wishes peace, calm and prosperity to be strengthened in the South Caucasus.
The Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry said this during a briefing with journalists in Yerevan on the sidelines of COP17.
The minister recalled that since 2022 Armenia and Turkey had begun a process of normalization of relations, stressing that since March 2026 that process has gained new momentum.
“The process of normalization of relations began in January 2022. Since March 2026, along with the flights of Turkish Airlines, that process gained new momentum. Therefore, the practical expression of this process, as well as the meetings of our esteemed president with Mr. Pashinyan, continue in such a way that the process of normalization of relations is raised to a higher level. Of course, we, as Turkey, wish that peace, calm and prosperity be strengthened in the region. And, certainly, taking into account the situation created here and the existing circumstances, we continue that process. I hope that the revitalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and the acceleration of the normalization process lead to very important achievements for both countries and for the whole region,” Yumakli said.
