In Paris, student demonstrators have blocked the entrance to the Louvre, expressing their support for the secondary school pupils’ demonstrations and condemning “police repressions”.
A leaflet posted in front of the Louvre notes that the demonstrators “proudly announce” the closure of the entrance to the world’s largest museum.
The leaflet also notes that it was decided to close the entrance to the museum, “because the government responds to youth protest demonstrations only with brutal police repression”.
“We thank you for your interest in French culture and for supporting our struggle for the right to study, work, and live freely and with dignity,” the leaflet says.
Nationwide protest demonstrations are being continued in France. The number of those arrested across the country has exceeded 2,000.
