French President Emmanuel Macron has criticized statements by certain foreign leaders concerning France, accusing them of spreading false content created by means of artificial intelligence.
“We have seen images created by means of artificial intelligence, in which are presented events that have never taken place in France. Claims have been voiced that huge groups of refugees and Islamists have invaded the country, which is completely false,” the French president stated.
He also criticized those leaders who, in his words, during election campaigns spread content created by means of artificial intelligence or repeat those claims which certain groups try to present as reality. “When I see that leaders conducting an election campaign in the region or on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean sometimes naively repeat content created by means of artificial intelligence or spread what certain groups want to make people believe about what has happened in France, they are conducting a campaign at our country’s expense,” Macron said.
He added that France already has enough problems without that and is trying to solve them in a systematic, respectful, but at the same time decisive and firm manner.
“At such moments you understand who loves France, and who does not. All those who now speak ill of our country do not love it. I love my country, and we will correct what has happened,” Macron stated.
