United Kingdom Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said that London may reconsider the future of relations with the European Union. He has not ruled out first joining the EU single market and customs union, and later even full EU membership.
Burnham noted that the possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of the options must be studied. Britain left the EU after the 2016 referendum.
French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez have responded positively to Burnham’s statements, stressing the possibility of closer relations with the EU.
