Pashinyan: We Can Officially Apply for the EU Membership Process

“We are not ready to leave the EAEU. We also know that the EAEU partners raise the issue of orientation, but I have said there is no subject for a referendum at this moment. On the issue of joining the EU, certain procedures must be followed,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said and assured that all actions are leading to officially applying in 2027 or 2028 to start a full EU membership process.

“Especially if there is a law in force,” the prime minister said.

Referring to the CSTO secretary general’s statement that the Russian side has submitted a proposal to remove Armenia for non-payment of membership fees, Nikol Pashinyan said. “Our interests are exhausted. We no longer have any interest in connection with the CSTO.”
