Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan addressed the export of Armenian agricultural products to Oman. “Armenia’s embassy in Oman is relatively new, its official opening took place this March, and since then active work has been carried out to establish economic ties,” the minister noted.
“From July to September, apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines and strawberries were exported from Armenia to Oman. Although they were trial, small batches, those fruits were sold in Oman’s largest chain of ‘Lulu’ hypermarkets, as well as in the ‘Suhol Al Faya’ supermarket chain. It is noteworthy that the Armenian fruits were presented and sold in the high-quality products section. I think this is an important fact,” Ararat Mirzoyan stressed.
The minister said that companies from Oman are already visiting Armenia, contacts are being established, contracts are being signed. “We can say with confidence that export volumes will grow in the future. It is also planned to export berries, other fruits, apples and grapes.”
Ararat Mirzoyan also noted that Oman is not the only one among the new markets opening for Armenian companies.
