Hajiyev: We Are Opening Different Transportation Routes for Armenia

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev has stated that Baku has chosen the path of establishing lasting peace with Armenia instead of continuing the war.

“Winning peace is much more difficult than winning a war. Today I am glad that within the framework of the strategy of turning the entire South Caucasus into an area of cooperation we are also recording successes in the peace process,” he stated.

Hajiyev stressed that there are still unhealed wounds and historical memories between the two peoples, but it is necessary to focus on the future and on establishing lasting peace.

Hajiyev noted that Baku proposes that Armenia join the network of regional communications, stressing the importance of developing transportation routes. “Armenia is a landlocked country, and we propose that it become a country connected with the other states of the region and we are opening different transportation routes for it,” Hajiyev said.
