Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the official ceremony of the launch of the new generation biometric system in Armenia and the handover of passports.
Present at the event were National Assembly President Ruben Rubinyan, Supreme Judicial Council President Artur Atabekyan, Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Tigran Khachatryan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia Lilit Makunts, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sarkisyan, Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission Johannes Luchner, Acting Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of IN Groupe Yan Haken, Member of the Board of Directors of HayPass company, Head of International Trade Development of IN Groupe Izabel Lozon and Executive Director of Corporation America Airports company Martin Eurnekian, representatives of legislative and executive bodies, representatives of the judiciary, diplomats and others.
The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia performed at the event, and short videos describing the content of the pages of the new biometric passport were presented.
Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sarkisyan delivered remarks, after which she handed Armenia’s first new biometric passports to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and National Assembly President Ruben Rubinyan.
Next, the country’s leader handed new biometric passports to conductor and composer Loris Chgnavoryan and to a group of young people whose birthday was that day.
