“If I say I guarantee that after the adoption of the new constitution this whole story will end, will the opposition vote against? That would mean being destroyed on the spot. The opposition cannot vote against in this situation,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, stressing that if the opposition decides to vote against, a political process will begin.
“A strange thing will happen. Usually, if it is the opposition that protests in front of parliament, this time the authorities may protest. Such a thing has happened once,” the prime minister said, recalling the events of October 2019.
According to him, if that scenario does not work either, that will mean going to snap elections, on one condition, when it is guaranteed one hundred percent that today’s parliamentary opposition will not be in the next one. “After yesterday’s processes the likelihood of a need for snap elections has decreased enormously,” the prime minister stressed.
