All state borders of the Republic of Armenia must be controlled by the relevant border guard service of the Republic of Armenia,” stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He recalled that at certain checkpoints the border guards of Armenia did not exercise control, but for several years now it is exclusively the border troops of the Republic of Armenia that control the checkpoints.
“Step by step we will hand over control of the entire border to the border guard service of the Republic of Armenia, which must go through reforms.”
He also noted that in the near future those holding biometric passports will be able to cross the border of the Republic of Armenia through e-gates, electronic checkpoints, which means that there will be no contact with any border guard officer.
In the near future such an opportunity will be created at Zvartnots Airport, and then at all border checkpoints without exception.
