Mesrop Mesropyan, chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), has said that a possible rise in the price of gas at the border does not imply an immediate change in the tariff for consumers.
“At this moment, at least as far as this year’s current tariffs are concerned, if there is no force majeure or emergency situations of a political nature, we will have no gas price rise until the month of March,” he said.
Mesropyan noted that tariffs are reviewed once every six months, on the initiative of the regulated company or the PSRC.
“Even if our partners apply today with a proposal to raise the price of Gazprom’s gas, it will concern the next six-monthly review of tariffs. That is, the winter period will already fall outside the scope of that review.
