Armenia Becomes Member of UNESCO World Heritage Committee

RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reports that Armenia is now a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

At the same time, the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list was supplemented with a new Armenian application, “Areni-1 Cave. Prehistoric Life and Winemaking in the Arpa River Valley”.

The application was prepared through state-private cooperation, through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the “Areni-1 Cave” research foundation and the “Armenia Enotourism Council” non-governmental organization, with funding from the latter.
